Privacy Policy
Last updated June 1, 2026
Placeholder. This is a stub. The final privacy policy is pending review by Daybook's Director and legal counsel, and does not yet constitute a binding agreement or a complete statement of our practices.
Daybook handles sensitive financial information, and we take that seriously. This page describes what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have.
Each section is shown two ways: a plain-English summary on the left so it's easy to understand, and the legal version on the right. The summary is for clarity; the legal text is what governs.
What we collect
In plain English
The details you give us — like your name, business, and email — plus the financial data you connect (bank and card activity, invoices, documents) so we can keep your books.
The legal version
Daybook collects information you submit directly (including contact and account registration data) and financial information you authorize us to access via connected third-party sources, together with technical metadata generated through your use of the Service. The categories of personal information collected will be enumerated in the final policy.
How we use it
In plain English
To do the bookkeeping you hired us for and to talk to you about your account. We don't sell your data.
The legal version
Personal information is processed to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, to communicate with you regarding your account, and to comply with legal and regulatory obligations. Daybook does not sell personal information. Any additional processing purposes and legal bases will be specified in the final policy.
How we protect it
In plain English
Your financial data is kept on our servers with tight, need-to-know access and a tamper-evident record of changes. Only the people working on your books can see them.
The legal version
Daybook maintains administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards including least-privilege access controls, server-side data isolation, and an append-only audit trail. Specific security measures and retention periods will be detailed in the final policy and are subject to change as the Service evolves.
Your choices
In plain English
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information, and you can reach a real person with any privacy question.
The legal version
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, port, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. The mechanisms for exercising these rights, and our contact details for privacy inquiries, will be set out in the final policy.
